Watch the First 15 Minutes of Call Me Mother Season 2

The first 15 min of Call Me Mother season two are here, and we couldn’t be more excited about this upcoming cycle!

Just like the first season, Call Me Mother will once again feature Crystal as the mother of the House of Glass, Barbada de Barbades as the mother of the House of Harmonie, and Peppermint as the mother of the House of Dulcet.

Crystal describes the House of Glass as “fashion, subversion, punky aesthetics. The perfect Venn diagram of hot, dangerous, and sweaty.” Barbades wants her drag children in the House of Harmonie “to become amazing superstars.” While Peppermint believes that the House of Dulcet is all about “art, activism, and compassion.”

The first step on Call Me Mother season two is the audition process, which consists of three phases: Look (where the mothers watch the contestants walk the showcase in their best drag fashion), Talent (where the contestants must perform a talent show number), and Tea (where the contestants plea their cases to the mothers and explain why they deserve a spot in the competition). During each of these phases, a few auditioners will be adopted into the three different houses on the show… but some drag artists won’t make it past this first round of the competition.

You can watch the exclusive first 15 minutes of Call Me Mother season two below.

OUTtv pilots sexting show under lockdown

Canada-based LGBTQ+ network OUTtv has piloted a show based on sexting filmed under lockdown through video conferencing as part of a commissioning spree.

The pilot for Group Sext, a reality show produced by Go Button Media, was hosted by drag queen Crystal from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. Crystal hosted from the UK with participants joining in from across Canada and the US, while the production staff were in lockdown all over Ontario.

The format sees one ‘masterdater’ given a shot at finding love or at least a sexting buddy by whittling down 10 sexters to one for a video call

The pilot was cast, shot and edited during lockdown through a combination of mulit-level video conferencing and self-shooting. No members of the cast or crew were ever in the same place for any of the production.

OUTtv has commissioned a raft of new projects – including a Go Button Media pilot cast, shot and edited during lockdown.

Hosted by former RuPaul’s Drag Race UK contestant Crystal across the pond, Group Sext sees one Masterdater narrow 10 sexters down for one video call, with things heating up as the selected sexter has the choice to either accept or decline their call. Notably, production included cast from across Canada and the U.S. and editing took place across three different provinces.

“During a time where a vast number of productions are experiencing a standstill in filming, we are delighted to commission five new shows to OUTtv, including a pilot for Group Sext, a show filmed within the confines of lockdown through video conferencing,” said OUTtv Network CEO Brad Banks in a statement.

“As more people are staying home, we are noticing a demand for new content and are thrilled to be able to add these news shows to our programming roster.”
