    Myx orders Snapchat Millionaire Travelogue

    US Asian-American cablenet Myx TV has ordered a reality travelogue series featuring a tech millionaire who sold his business to Snapchat for US$54m in 2014.

    The first season of Discovering Routes will be made up of eight 22-minute broadcast episodes and 20 eight-minute webisodes.

    It will follow tech millionaire Garrett Gee and his sister Miristi as they travel to the Philippines, the land of their ancestry, for the first time.

    Asian American-targeted cable net Myx TV has marked mid-September for the premiere of its reality travelogue series Discovering Routes.

    Produced by ABS-CBN Global Studios in association with Go Button Media, the 8 x 22-minute program will follow “The Bucket List Family” blogger Garrett Gee (pictured, right) and his sister Miristi Gee (left) as they travel to the Philippines to explore their heritage.

    The series will follow the Gee siblings to the sovereign island nation to experience local Filipino traditions and exotic tropical locales, including swimming in the Calamian Islands, harvesting rice in the Chocolate Hills of Bohol, and crafting guitars at the Alegre Guitar Factory on Cebu Island.

    Go Button Media’s Mom vs Matchmaker headed to MyxTV

    Post-production is underway on Toronto-based Go Button Media’s first commissioned project, Mom Vs. Matchmaker, an unscripted series backed by a dating service brand partner the producers hope will be ripe for co-viewing.

    The first season of the series includes six, half-hour episodes that will bow on U.S. channel Myx TV on May 3. Mom Vs. Matchmaker has also been picked up by Toronto-based Stornoway Communications, which operates digital specialty networks ichannel and The Pet Network, although an air date for the series in Canada has not yet been set. Myx TV, an Asian-American entertainment-focused channel carried by Comcast, Time Warner and DIRECTTV, is the commissioning broadcaster on the series. The series is executive produced by Go Button Media’s Daniel Oron, Natasha Ryan and Miguel Santos, general manager of Myx TV.

    Mixed martial arts and a matchmaker who battles moms are part of the 2016 programming slate for Myx TV, the Asian-American focused cable and satellite channel.

    With new original series “Mom vs. Matchmaker,” professional matchmaker Carmelia Ray (pictured) will go head-to-head with opinionated mothers as she finds the perfect mate for their single children. Produced by Go Button Media and Myx TV, the executive producers are Daniel Oron and Natasha Ryan for Go Button and Miguel Santos for Myx TV.

    “‘Mom vs. Matchmaker’ challenges the old ‘mother knows best’ saying by testing a mother’s instinct against a professional matchmaker’s cutting-edge expertise,” said Santos, g.m. of Myx TV. “With a child’s future happiness on the line, the emotions run high, and Myx TV audiences will see the drama that goes into making the perfect match.”
